The Coastal Zone in Belize covers an area from the shoreline’s high tide up to 3 Km inland and includes the emergent part of the beach, bays, coastal lagoons, as well as mangrove forest and other vegetation. The elaboration of this report considers the participation of local experts in two ways: by providing information related with their perceptions about the most critical pressures, the current status of the coastal zone and management of the coastal zone. The second form of local expert participation is by providing feedback on the report that will be elaborated.
